Extending product life with anti-rust treatment and sacrificial anode protection

NdFeB Material is a strong magnet that is applied in many areas. When we apply the product, we all want to use it for a long time. But, cause it is a kind of metal material, it will rust with time, especially when it is used in moist situations, for example, the port, seaside, and so on.

About the method to anti-rust, there are many different methods。 One of them is the sacrificial anode protection method, which works on the principle of galvanic corrosion, where the more reactive metal becomes the anode and corrodes in place of the protected metal (which becomes the cathode). This process effectively prevents the main product from rusting, thereby extending its service life and reducing maintenance costs.

Here Richeng has made a test about the sacrificial anode production to enhance its proprity of anti-rusted!

We set three different control groups:

Group 1: Blank control group, the N35 NdFeB magnet ( coated by Ni);

Group 2: the N35NdFeB magnet ( coated by Ni) with the Alloy anode rod(not tight junction)

Group3: the N35NdFeB magnet ( coated by Ni) with the Alloy anode rod( tight junction)

Put them into the bowl with 5% salt liquid, and soak for one week.

Here are the results of the current. Obviously, the anode greatly helps to reduce the corrosion. When group 1 has rust in the salt water, group 2 shows the anode helps to slow down rusting, and when the anchor has a better connection with the NdFeB, the flow of electricity will be in best work which made the NdFeB nearly not rusted!

Even group 3, did not apply with a strong physical connection, from this test, we could the conclusion that we can apply this alloy anode rod to highly increase the lifetime of the Magnetic product. We can set the replaceable rob to connect the magnet so that changing the anode rob easily can increase the lifetime.

Additionally, sacrificial anode protection is a cost-effective solution for increasing product life. The initial investment in installing sacrificial anodes is relatively low compared to the long-term benefits of corrosion protection. This approach not only reduces the need for frequent rust prevention treatments but also minimizes the risk of product failure due to rust-related issues.

One of the main advantages of sacrificial anode protection is its ability to provide long-term corrosion protection, especially in harsh environments such as marine or industrial environments. By strategically placing sacrificial anodes on metal products, manufacturers can ensure complete rust protection even in challenging conditions.
